Greetings Team Westmoreland! As you know, my brother-in-law Keith Westmoreland experienced a severe heart attack on August 24th, leading to extended cardiac arrest. This necessitated his transfer to Northwestern Hospital downtown Chicago, where he is receiving top-tier care, including ECMO, a ventilator, and a heart pump. While Keith's condition remains critical, there have been encouraging signs, such as his ability to follow commands and even give a thumbs up during brief periods off sedation. However, his road to recovery is expected to be long and challenging.

In light of this, Keith's family is facing significant financial strain. He is entitled to only six weeks of paid leave, after which the family will not only lose his income but also lose his health benefits. To continue receiving the necessary care, the family will have to opt for the much more expensive COBRA insurance.
